First you'll want to clean the bowl of the toilet. Lift the lid of the bowl and spray it with you toilet cleaning solution. If you don't have a toilet specific cleaner, an all purpose cleaner will do. The difference between toilet cleaners and all purpose cleaners is the viscosity of the cleaner.
